| January 7, 2005 Release Number: 05-01-09C FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SEVEN TROOPS KILLED BY EXPLOSION IN BAGHDAD BAGHDAD, Iraq -- Seven Task Force Baghdad Soldiers were killed in northwestern Baghdad when their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED) at approximately 6 p.m. on Jan. 6. The Soldiers were conducting a patrol in a Bradley Fighting Vehicle when an IED detonated, killing all seven occupants. The incident is under investigation and the names of casualties are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. -30- |
