| August 1, 2004 Release Number: 04-08-01 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE INSURGENTS ATTACK CONVOYS NORTHEAST OF FALLUJAH FALLUJAH, Iraq - Fighting in Fallujah continued into the early morning hours Sunday, when three Multi-National Force-Iraq convoys traveling outside the northeast portion of the city were repeatedly attacked by anti-Iraqi forces. The convoys returned fire and requested air support to take out AIF positions. Air strikes took out one building and an AIF fighting position. It is estimated that at least 10 AIF were killed during the engagements. Multi-National Forces sustained no casualties. -30- |
