The visit coincides with growing violence in the region. On Saturday, gunmen attacked a Chechen police station and several polling stations, leaving dozens of people dead.
  • SOMALIA/POLITICS VOA 22 Aug 2004 -- More than 200 members of Somalia's new parliament were being sworn in Sunday at a ceremony in Kenya's capital, Nairobi. But the names of some of the members have yet to be agreed upon before the Somali parliament can be complete.
