| June 8, 2004 Release Number: 04-06-12C FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ONE SOLDIER KILLED BY CAR BOMB TIKRIT, Iraq - One 1st Infantry Division Soldier was killed and 10 Soldiers were wounded when a car bomb detonated outside a Coalition base near Baqubah around 8:00 a.m. June 8. The Soldiers were preparing to inspect a vehicle outside the gate of a Coalition base when the blast occurred. Four Soldiers are being treated at the base. The remaining wounded were evacuated to the 31st Combat Support Hospital. The deceased Soldier's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. -30- |
