| June 7, 2004 Release Number: 04-06-06C FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Soldier Collapses, Dies on Guard Duty BAGHDAD, Iraq - A Task Force Baghdad soldier died yesterday from a non-combat-related cause, according to 1st Cavalry Division medical officials. The soldier collapsed and stopped breathing around 11 a.m. while performing guard duty. Medics attempted to resuscitate and stabilize the soldier at the scene. The soldier was later transported to a nearby aid station, and then to a military hospital. The soldier was pronounced dead at the hospital. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The incident is under investigation. -30- |
