DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Pfc. Jesse R. Buryj, 21, of Canton, Ohio, died May 5, in Karbala, Iraq, when his military vehicle was struck by a dump truck whose driver had been shot while trying to run through a control point. Pfc. Buryj was assigned to the 66th Military Police Company, Fort Lewis, Wash.
The incident is under investigation.
