| May 5, 2004 Release Number: 04-05-09 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TASK FORCE DANGER SOLDERS SEIZ WEAPONS CACHES TIKRIT, Iraq - Task Force Danger Soldiers seized two weapons caches in northeastern Iraq May 4. The first cache was seized by Soldiers of 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment near Tikrit around 1:20 a.m. and consisted of 400 115mm tank rounds. The second cache was seized by Soldiers of 2nd Battalion, 11th Field Artillery Regiment east of Raniyah around 7:45 p.m. and consisted of 92 100mm mortar rounds, 283 120mm artillery rounds, 50 12.7mm machine gun rounds, three 122mm high-explosive artillery rounds, and five three-meter rockets. -30- |
