BAE SYSTEMS Receives $85 Million U.S. Navy Contract For Above Water Sensors Support

BAE Systems has been awarded an $85 million U.S. Navy contract to provide technical, program and financial management, and administrative support for the Navys in-service radars and next generation surface ship radar systems. BAE Systems was the sole recipient of the five-year award, which includes one base year and four option years.
Under the contract, issued by the Navys Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C., BAE Systems Technology Solutions will perform a full range of professional support services across all radar programs within the Integrated Warfare Systems Above Water Sensors program office including program management, engineering, logistics, and financial management. The programs are in various stages of the acquisition process and the scope of BAE Systems support encompasses all phases of the acquisition life cycle/defence acquisition management framework. The company will be responsible for supporting all radars systems used in todays surface navy and those planned for future surface ships such as DD(X).
Work will be performed by personnel of BAE Systems Technology Solutions at its offices in Washington and will be completed by February 2009.
