BAE SYSTEMS Announces A Trans-Atlantic Capability To Serve The Growing Surface Navies Operating In The Littoral Environment

BAE Systems today announced the creation of a trans-Atlantic capability that combines parts of the company that are engaged in the design, manufacture, and integration of proven solutions used by Naval ships operating in the Littoral environment. The move creates a U.S.-based world-leading provider of solutions for use in Littoral waters for Mine Warfare.
The team, lead by the companys Technology Solutions business, consists of units from six BAE Systems locations, in the U.S., U.K., and Germany. BAE Systems entities in Washington, D.C.; Rockville and California, Maryland, are working with three facilities in Europe. Those facilities are located in Frimley and Waterlooville, U.K., and Bremen, Germany.

BAE Systems Technology Solutions develops and produces integrated solutions for U.S. Navy systems on board sophisticated platforms including Aegis CG 47 cruisers, DDG 51 destroyers, CVN 68 class carriers, and the LPD-17 class amphibious assault ships.
Mine Warfare solutions include command and control, mine neutralisation, high definition sonar, remote mine hunting and sweeping, and an autonomous underwater vehicle now in test and evaluation. More than 15 navies worldwide use BAE Systems mine warfare products or systems including both U.S. and Royal Navy ships, which provided a major role in clearing sea-lanes and ensuring safe passage during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
