FFG 10 Duncan
The Duncan was commissioned in May 1980 and was decommissioned in Dec 1994.
In April 1996 the Department of Defense notified Congress that the Government of Egypt had requested the purchase of one PERRY-class frigate (USS DUNCAN FFG10),weapons and ammunition to include 40 STANDARD SM-1 missiles, 24 MK-46 MOD 5torpedoes, 100 rounds of 40mm and 8,000 rounds of 20mm PHALANX Close-in-WeaponSystem (CIWS) ammunition, sonobouys and other related ammunition items,shipyard/port support services and post transfer activities relating to "hotship" and "cold ship" turnover of two PERRY class frigates from the U.S. Navy(including Section 516 grant transfer of USS COPELAND) and TARTAR HARPOONmodification kits and other related elements of program support necessary toprepare the frigates for transfer to Egypt in a "Safe to Steam" conditions withall shipboard and weapon systems operational. The estimated cost was $188million.
