701st Military Police Battalion
The mission of the 701st Military Police Battalion is to provide administrative, logistical, personnel and training support to permanent party and students of the U.S. Army Military Police School. The unit is also tasked with conducting quality instruction for Military Police Advanced Individual Training as an integral part of the Fort Leonard Wood Military Police One Station Unit Training mission.
The 701st Military Police Battalion was originally constituted on 16 December 1940 in the Regular Army as teh 701st Military Police Battalion. It activated on 1 February 1941 at Fort Snelling, MN.
The unit was reorganized and redesignated on 28 February 1947 as the 701st Military Police Service Battalion; and on 25 May 1949 as the 701st Military Police Battalion. It inactivated on 25 August 1956 at Fort Knox, KY.
Heaquarters transferred on 16 September 1986 to the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command and organized at Fort McClellan, AL.
