654th Area Support Group

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 14 January 2000, consisting of a blue background surmounted by a gold totem pole flanked on wither side by two gold swords; all enclosed by a red scroll inscribed at top "SUPPORTING" and at bottom "THE NORTHWEST" in gold. Buff/gold and scarlet are the colors traditionally used by the Support units. The swords signify the organizations' commitment to mobilization readiness. The totem pole symbolizes the Northwest and the rich Indian culture of the unit's home area. The blue background suggests the Puget Sound, which flows through Tumwater, Washington, the location of the group.
