414th Base Support Battalion

The Hanau community is extensive. Although most American military kasernes are located in Hanau, others are in small towns like Erlensee, Gelnhausen, and Budingen. Home to the 414 Base Support Battalion, Hanau is also home to the 104 ASG Command.

Hanau is separated into nine kasernes with seven housing areas on post as well as leased areas on the economy. Wolfgang Kaserne is the primary shopping center offering a PX, commissary, bowling alley, roller skating rink, bottle shop, bookstore, post office, bank, German post office and many more shops, services and restaurants. Wolfgang is a one-stop shopping place.

Hanau has two elementary schools, a middle school and a high school. Three child development centers care for the smallest community members, but sign 'em up early as spaces fill up quickly. Army Community Service (ACS) is here in Hanau to help transition to life in Europe.

Located 30 minutes from Frankfurt International Airport, catching a flight is easy and never far from a city rich in culture and arts.

Hanau has a history of gold and silver making and many industries today are still involved in the manufacture of precious metals.

Heavily bombed by Allied forces in 1944, Hanau rebuilt its historic Geldhaus which today houses a Geldmuseum, two major churches have been restored to their ancient appearance, and Scholss Phillipsruhe is a beautiful place for a weekend stroll. Hanau has it all.
