4th Battalion, 6th Air Defense Artillery

The 4th Battalion, 6th Air Defense Artillery mission is to produce combat-ready: warrant officers (WOBC, WOAC), platoon leaders, and battery commanders. Execute the security assistance training program for USAADASCH and Fort Bliss. Support Brigade mobilization plan. Mission The 4th Battalion, 6th Air Defense Artillery Brigade meets the nation's air defense requirements through training and educating our future leaders to be technically and tactically proficient air and missile defense battery commanders, battle captains, platoon leaders, and warrant officers. Executes Air Defense brigade and battalion pre-command course and conducts the security assistance training program for USAADASCH and Fort Bliss. Provides administrative and logistics support to all U.S. and international students.

The 4th Battalion, 6th ADA conducts and supports ADA officer institutional training:

  • Battery A: Officer Advanced Course and Warrant Officer Advanced Course -- MOSs 14B (SHORAD System Officer), 14E (PATRIOT System Officer), 140A (FAAD C4I System Integrator), and 140E (PATRIOT System Technician).
  • Battery B: Officer Basic Course -- MOSs 14B (SHORAD System Officer) and 14E (PATRIOT System Officer).

Design, develop, review, and update POIs, lesson plans, and related materials for institutional training. Maintain an audit trail of POI and lesson plans development. Qualify instructors, following their graduation from the Brigade TAITC and Small Group Instructor Course, via the Battalion Qualification Board. Schedule and adjust classes in accordance with the Structure Manpower Decision Review and Training Requirements Arbitration Panel processes, producing appropriate training schedules. Perform academic counseling; conduct academic boards, when necessary, and render recommendations. Administer the International Military Student Office (IMSO) in support of FMS students receiving ADA training. Coordinate with the Security Assistance Training Field Activity (SATFA) and country liaison officers. Conduct local and out-of-town activities, sponsor the International Military Host Family Program, and execute the information program. Maintain unit physical readiness. Execute and support soldier and family care and community responsibilities.
