326th Area Support Group
The 326th Area Support Group is a United States Army Reserve Unit located in Kansas City, Kansas. The Group has peacetime command and control over 4 Battalions and 37 different units. It overlooks such readiness areas as training, maintenance, mobilization and personnel matters within it's subordinate units.
In a national emergency, the Area Support Group and its subordinate units provide support to combat ready forces in their crisis support or power projection role. They may deploy from a forward presence site in response to a crisis or remain at that forward site to receive and process follow-on forces. The Area Support Group may tailor a slice of support to set up a forward support base or provide support at an intermediate staging area. Area Support Group units may also locate in an friendly nation outside the supported the service Commander in Chief's region or operate a support base from amphibious shipping or mobile sea bases.
The 326th Area Support Group mission is to command, control and supervise all assigned and attached units. To provide general support supply (less medical and ammunition) to units in the Theater of Operation. To manage and coordinate Host Nation Support that replaces or augments portions of the Area Support Group's Mission. Plan and direct DS (Direct Support) supply, Maintenance and centralized personnel and administration services to unit located in or passing through the Communications Zone. Provide GS (General Support) Maintenance and out of sector support when required.
