21st Theater Support Command (CONUS Augmentation)
The 21st Theater Army Area Command [CONUS] provides trained and ready forces to conduct: theater-level deployment and redeployment support for a contingency force in support of United States European Command (EUCOM) and Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS)-directed regional military objectives, or in support of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and United Nations (UN) military objectives; theater-level sustainment including military industrial operations, materiel distribution, split-based operations, and deployable logistics force packages; reception, staging, onward movement, and integration (RSOI) activities; and force reconstitution as required.
The 21st Theater Army Area Command (CA), [TAACOM] has changed its name to the 21st Theater Support Command [TSC], and now reports directly to the 88th RSC. The 21st TAACOM (CA) was deployed to Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in December of 1990. The last unit members redeployed in November of 1991. The unit was was also deployed to Germany and Eastern Europe in support of Operation Joint Guard/Joint Endeavor.
