Company A - 2-20th Special Forces Group (Airborne)
Company A, 2nd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne), became a part if the Illinois Army National Guard on July 24, 1994. The unit was made up of elements of the inactivated 12th SFG (A) United States Army Reserve. The original designation for the unit was Company D (Provisional), 2/20th SFG (A). This was changed approximately 18 months after the formation of the unit.
A/2/20th SFG (A) has 6 Operational Detachments Alpha (ODA) and 1 Operational Detachment Bravo (ODB). The Battalion HQ is located in Mississippi and the Group HQ is located in Alabama. The company falls under the 33d Area Support Group in the Illinois Army National Guard.
