As part of the Army's transformation towards a modular force, the 15th Brigade Special Troops Battalion was activated on July 6, 2005 at Fort Hood.
The mission of the 15th BSTB is to rapidly deploy to designated contingency areas; conduct security and support operations; receive, integrate, and C2 attachment units to facilitate the Brigade’s support to units assigned within the AOR.
