18th Personnel Services Battalion
The mission of the 18th Personnel Services Battalion is to provide personnel service support, postal operations, and replacement operations in support of the 29,000 soldiers assigned to the XVIII Airborne Corps non-divisional units, US Army Special Operations Command and Fort Bragg non-Corps units.
Constituted 16 October 1942, in the Army of the United States as the 18th Replacement Battalion. Activated 20 October 1942, at Camp Sutton, North Carolina. The Battalion was reconstructed 15 February1944 and its elements reorganized and redesigned as follows:
Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 18th Replacement Battalion (Companies A, B, and C, as the 403rd, 404th and 405th Replacement Companies, respectively hereafter separate lineage). Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 18th Replacement Battalion, deactivated 23 December 1945 at Bagnoll, Italy. Redesigned 21 September 1975, as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 18th Personnel and Administration Battalion, allotted to the Regular Army and activated at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Redesigned Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 18th Personnel Services Battalion on 1 June 1993.
