D Company 160th SOAR

During the Cold War the 617th SOAD (Special Operations Aviation Detachment) was based at Howard AFB in Panama with 10 MH-60L helicopters from 3-160 SOAR. Following the withdrawal of US forces from Panama, the unit moved to Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, where it was redesignated D Company 160th SOAR.
