141st Signal Battalion
"The Communicators"
The 141st was constituted in June 1940 in the Regular Army as the 7th Signal Troop and was activated at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. The unit was reorganized and redesignated in July 1940 as the 47th Signal Company and was assigned to the 1st Armored Division.
In August 1941 it was redesignated as the 141st Signal Armored Company but in January 1942 it was redesignated as the 141st Armored Signal Company.
Following World War II the 141st was inactivated at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey in 1946. The unit was reactivated 5 years later in March 1951 at Ft. Hood.
In February 1957 the unit was reorganized and redesignated as HHC 141st Signal Battalion. In December of the same year the unit was inactivated at Ft. Polk.
The unit was reactivated in 3 February 1962 at Ft Hood.
Since then the 141st participated in Desert Storm with the 1st Armored Division.
