1st Battalion, 212th Aviation Regiment

The 1st Battalion, 212th Aviation's conducts OH-58A/C qualification, night vision goggles qualification, instructor pilot qualification, UH-60 qualification, UH-60 instructor pilot training, UH-60 non-rated crew member training, and UH-60 Flight School XXI training.

1-212th Aviation Regiment trained future Army and allied aviators in primary, contact, combat skills and night/night vision devices in TH-67, OH-58 and UH-1 aircraft; conducts instructor pilot training in UH-1 and OH-58 aircraft; and maintains and operated Lowe Army Heliport.

As of 2000, the Battalion's Mission Essential Task List included: Conduct safe, realistic and disciplined training to standard; Conduct UH-1 and OH-58 combat skills, night vision goggle training and evaluations; conduct UH-1 and OH-58 instructor pilot training; evaluate the performance of the flight training contractor ensuring compliance and standards are met for the TH-67 primary program of instruction; provide airfield operations for Lowe Army Heliport; plan, coordinate and schedule the use of stagefields, aircraft, air traffic control, refuel and other resources required to execute all programs of instruction; conduct Foreign Military Training in UH-1, and OH-58 aircraft; and plan and be prepared to execute contingency missions.
