IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Dec 17, IRNA -- Navy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi announced Monday that the production line of the ScanEagle drone has been launched.
On the sidelines of a conference on the Persian Gulf and Hormuz Strait, Fadavi told reporters that the production line is used at the IRGC naval and air forces.
As to great capabilities of the ScanEagle drone, Fadavi said it has broken the power of endurance record.
Referring to the drone recently captured by the Iranian forces in the Persian Gulf zone, he said it was the third one of its kind caught by Iran.
ScanEagle is a complete tactical drone and its endurance is not comparable with any other ones, added he.
Emphasizing the importance of Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz for the world, Fadavi said insecurity in those regions will endanger the global energy.
The entire world needs the existing energy resources in the Persian Gulf, said the commander adding that all world states need the Strait of Hormuz to pass their ships through it.
