Following the discovery of pro-Ghadafi forces near the Lybian town of Zlitan, Royal Air Force Typhoon and Tornado aircraft were tasked with disrupting the troops buildup. Using three Enhanced Paveway II and two Paveway IV precision-guided munitions, the aircraft struck the targets, despite the attempts to conceal the vehicles in a tree line and the presence of heavy cloud cover.
In the video, a pair of Heavy Equipment Transporters (HETs) carrying three 2S1 122mm tracked howitzer are destroyed.
According to RAF officials, additional targets were identified for other waves of NATO aircraft while specialist analysts from the RAF's Tactical Imagery Intelligence Wing located on the ground scoured the footage to identify other targets for future strikes.
